First L2 Envelope Undergoes Acceptance Testing

April 29, 2008. The envelope for the first production L2 airship commenced acceptance testing at the company's southern Nevada facility. The envelope was inflated with air for the tests which included dimentional checking and pressure testing. The envelope passed all testes without issue.

Video of the tests can be found here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MOA06Jord0s

A fuller video report and photos will be added to the gallery page shortly.

R&D1 Airship Begins Second Phase of Testing

Airship Surveillance Inc's R&D1 airship began the second of three phases of testing on Friday April 4th. This phase of testing builds on the experiance gained on previous flights and introduces the use of bow thrusters for control at low speeds.

The airship performed extremely well during the flights, demonstrating a very high level of control.

A video of the test fligh has been unloaded on You Tube and photos and video of the flight will be featured on the web site early next week.

R&D 1 Airship Ready For Next Testing Phase

April 2, 2008.

The R&D1 airship is ready to commence the next phase of testing which will involve the use bow thrusters to assist with the directional control of the airship at very low speeds. The purpose of the thrusters is to provide the pilot with full control of the aircraft regardless of its speed; traditionally airships have been very difficult to handle at low speeds when there is little airflow over the aerodynamic control surfaces (rudders and elevators).

The team is waiting for a period of windy weather to pass before commencing the flights.

Details of the flight will be covered on the web site.

Construction of First Mission Equipped Airship Begins

Airship Surveillance has begun assembly of the L2 payload support section which, when completed, will be shipped to an instrumentation developer for initial integration and compatibility testing. The client and details of the program are to remain confidential; however, the payload bay will be delivered to a firm which develops cutting edge sensors and other instrumentation for the Department of Defense and Homeland Security.

"The sensors are being optimized for use in the fight against Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and in support of US Customs and Border Protection. Once the sensors have been integrated and tested, Airship Surveillance anticipates the payload section will be mated to the airship to begin flight testing under Government supervision within Restricted Airspace," stated Sandy Mangold of Airship Surveillance.

Mr. Dan Green of WENR, a strategic partner of Airship Surveillance, commented, "This is another exciting development for our Company. This news follows the LOI supporting the use of the airships in the fight against narcotics & terrorism, which Airship Surveillance received last week. This latest development proves that there is a very real demand for the products and services the Airship offers in support of the persistent surveillance mission for a growing number of government organizations."

AirSur Inc Recieves LOI

Airship Surveillance Inc is pleased to annouce it has received an LOI from Auxilia, a lead systems integrator in the commercialization of unmanned systems (UMS) technologies.

"We are pleased to formally announce our commitment, interest, and intent on a partnership with Airship Surveillance (AirSur) and WENR," stated Donald Devito of Auxilia. Recently, Auxilia has been engaged with Federal and State Agencies on UMS Applications focused on counter-narco-terrorism (CNT) applications for airborne UMS.

Auxilia's first LOI to AirSur is to provide ample time to procure and secure resources for a project, which includes:

-- Counter narcotics and counter-narco-terrorism

-- Persistent surveillance and communications support for homeland
    security and emergency response activities

-- Homeland infrastructure security related surveillance of strategic
    assets and reconnaissance

-- Voice, video, and data communications technology for advanced mission
critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations

"We are looking forward to building our relationship with Auxilia. As a result, we will be increasing our capacity and production capabilities to meet and exceed expectations," noted Sandy Mangold of Airship Surveillance.
